A Seed that took root

In the summer of 2020, Jyziah Herring joined us as an eighth grader headed into ninth grade — the youngest in the program, and the only one who wasn't from Folkston. His dad made the drive over from a neighboring county all summer so he wouldn't miss it.

That summer stuck. Jyziah started ninth grade in his high school's welding program and hasn't slowed down since — his instructor has him moving up fast, with rave reviews on his technique.
